Yoga

There’s no better way to relieve the stress, anxiety and tension built up from the pressures of everyday life. Yoga, the world’s oldest holistic physical and spiritual practice, enables you to improve your health, memory and concentration. The Club offers 2 different types of yoga classes for adults – Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Flow Yoga.

Hatha Yoga utilizes postures and conscious breathing in combination with mental focus to develop awareness, strength, flexibility and relaxation. Through proper alignment of the body, Hatha Yoga brings about balance and a sense of well-being to the practitioner.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a faster-paced yoga style that links breathing with movement. This energetic flowing sequence will improve balance, flexibility, strength and endurance! As you move in sync with your breathing, your mind quiets down and you will leave the class feeling focused and calm.


Kids' Yoga will combine yoga and arts & crafts to help kids stretch their bodies and focus their minds while having fun. Participants will enjoy making items such as calm-down jars, lavender eye pillows, meditation rocks as they practise incorporating cardiovascular conditioning to asanas (yoga poses), pranayama (breathing methods), mindfulness and relaxation techniques.

Instructor        
Michael Choong is a full-time, freelance yoga instructor and personal trainer at several clubs, companies and community centres. He holds an International Diploma in Ashtanga Yoga. He is also certified in Therapeutic Healing Yoga and has attended the Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training Course.
Dawn Wong is a 200-Hour Yoga Alliance-certified teacher with a Certificate in Hatha Yoga accredited by the Tamil Nadu Physical Education andSports UniversityIndia. She has been practicing Yoga for more than 6 years and currently teaches at Yoga Seeds and various country clubs.
Things to Note
  • Charges are for 4 lessons in a month. There will be additional charges if there are 5 weeks/lessons in a month.
  • Members who wish to discontinue their lessons must inform the Sports & Recreation Department in writing one month in advance.
