Billiards
Origin of Billiards
Billiards originated from a lawn game much like the outdoor game of croquet, which was played with a ball and a crooked still. This was later played indoors on a wooden table covered with green cloth. A wooden stick called a mace was used to shove the balls around. Believed to date back as far as 1350, the sport has gradually evolved into the divisions of Snooker, Pool and Carambole.
Billiards in the Club
A popular game with the youth in the Club, the Billiard Fraternity is seeing greater participation than ever. Playing standards have been steadily increasing for Pool and the Fraternity has also successfully rekindled interest in Snooker. The Fraternity warmly welcomes pool and snooker enthusiasts to join in its leisure games and tournaments.
